Philomena Fitzpatrick

Philomena is 22 years old and from Ballybrack in Dublin. She is a student of The College of Dance. Philomena has applied and been accepted into a musical theatre course in the London College of Music for the academic year of 2010, but says she may have to defer it if she manages to get the role of Serena in Fame The Musical!

Philomena Fitzpatrick

Philomena has taken part in a number of amateur musical theatre productions and directed 2 musical plays; The Seven Ages of Women and A Christmas Carol, both of which were shown in the Powerscourt Gallery. Philomena has also acted professionally, appearing in an Irish short film called 'A Job Well Done' which was shown at Cannes Film Festival in 2009. She also appeared in The Taming of The Shrew at Shakespeare in the Park in Dublin.

Philomena always knew she wanted to be an actress but it was at 12 years old that she found out that she could really sing. She was singing an Alicia Keys song; 'Fallin'' as part of the Irish Academy of Dramatic Arts Summer Show in Bray. After the show she was offered a scholarship to join the academy, on top of this, she was told that an anonymous member of the audience had asked could they fund private singing classes for her. To this day she doesn't know who that person was, but says she remains grateful to them because they helped her realise that she was good enough to combine singing and acting and move into the world of musical theatre.
