Drew is 22 years old and originally from Glasgow in Scotland. He is currently working as a promotional worker in London while trying to get work in the industry. In 2007, while in his second year studying medicine at Dundee University, he applied for the BBC's 'Any Dream Will Do' programme. He got through the first few rounds of the competition and met theatre and TV casting Director David Grindod who told him that, with training, he could potentially have a career in musical theatre. Within only a few months Drew had left medicine to pursue his dream of musical theatre. He got a place in the London School of Musical Theatre's year long course and graduated in summer 2008. Soon after graduating, Drew was cast in a Number 1 UK tour of Joseph and the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He covered and played the role of Pharaoh and also covered the role of Joseph. He toured the UK with the show for nine months.
Drew says Fame is one of his favourite musicals and that he relates to the part of Nick on many different levels, he says he mostly relates to Nick because the character is both academic and theatrical.
Drew's mother and grandmother are from Belfast and his father is Scottish. His grandmother now lives in Scotland close to the family. Drew says he still has a large extended family in Northern Ireland.
Drew has two brothers, Jonathan who is 28 and a non identical twin, Graeme, whom he says is his 'polar opposite'. Drew enjoys skiing (which he has been doing since the age of 3) fashion, theatre and live music.
