A kindly old lady, Ursula confronted her past when she admitted that she had borne a child with a priest in her younger years. She was delighted to be reunited with that child, Enda, who came to teach in Carrigstown school.

Ursula Cruise used to lodge with Dolores and Cleo. She went to live in England with Enda and died peacefully with her family around her.
