Geraldine Fahey first came to Carrigstown in 2002 to track down Ken, Dermot's brother - the father of her little boy Owen. Despite a failed marriage to Ken and his lackadaisical approach to fatherhood, Geraldine tried her hardest to be content with the one track minded Mike Gleeson with whom she ran the Bistro.

When Mike's brother Louie and Yvonne conspired to oust her from the business, Geraldine ended up leaving Carrigstown a poorer, bitter woman.
