SPOILER ALERT - don't read ahead if you don't want to know what's coming up on Fair City.

Eddie has been doing very well for himself recently. Desperate to return to his former glories as a financial whizz-kid, he has been looking for opportunities to get back in the money game. Running a courier business was merely a stepping stone get Eddie off the ground.

Although he is not supposed to be delving into financial markets, Eddie convinced Wayne to let him invest his money. Success quickly followed and Eddie pushed for bigger and better deals. Always a tactician, Eddie used the feud between Paul and Wayne to play them off each other and his strategy worked. Paul usurped Wayne from a huge deal and the deceit paid off.

Eddie's financial prowess came up trumps and Paul landed a huge windfall. Unsurprisingly, Wayne is livid but Eddie seems to be made of Teflon and has deflected all blame. Eddie is manipulating all around him to suit himself and he is manoeuvring for his next big investment, with Dolores firmly in his sights.

Of course the caveat to all this success is that Eddie has tied himself up with Flynn, the rather nasty and cruel criminal he met in prison. Looking for a quick buck, Eddie got a loan from Flynn and rather naively thought he could get a loan from him without consequence.

Eddie used his commission from Paul's pay-off to pay Flynn back but with Eddie's profits plain to be seen, Flynn has no interest in letting this money maker out of his grasp.

Eddie is convinced his troubles are behind him and just as he is smugly telling his mother how things are on the up, his lovely Sunday lunch is disturbed by Decco, battered and bruised with a message from Flynn.

EDDIE IS PACING AS DECCO LISTENS TO HIM

EDDIE
Okay, it's alright. Between us we can sort this.
BEAT
We just need to come up with a plan.

DECCO
We? I'm the one with a broken face. I want nothing to do with that psycho. This is your mess. You're on your own.

EDDIE
Flynn has his money. It's over.

DECCO
INDICATING HIS FACE
Does this look like it's over?

EDDIE
I'm not letting him drag me back in to all of that. Come on, you and me working together. We can't lose.

DECCO
Oh no. Not a chance. I've done more than my fair share already.

EDDIE
I need you to help me. You know what he's like.

DECCO
I'm out.

EDDIE
No. I am not letting this happen to me.
CONVINCING HIMSELF
What's the worst he can do, right?

DECCO
Come back to me when you've been on the wrong end of a beating. You ever get your head kicked in?
BEAT
You think this is as bad as it gets?
