SPOILER ALERT - don't read ahead if you don't want to know what's coming up on Fair City.
Paul and Wayne have started to become very competitive and as much as Paul likes to dismiss him as a chancer, Wayne has done quite well for himself. After spotting a dimaond in the rough in an old Ford Cortina, Wayne landed an incredible profit and is flying high.
Paul meanwhile has found Wayne's gloating very hard to take but has also become intrigued by Wayne's relationship with Eddie and their talk of profitable investments. Paul has approached Eddie about investing and depsite playing it cool, Eddie is only delighted to take Paul's money so he play at being financial mastermind again.
Paul however is shocked at the amount of money needed to get in on Eddie's goldmine. With Wayne sniffing at the same deal and Eddie playing them off against each other, Paul is shocked when Wayne has a proposition for him.

It's a lot to ask, Wayne.
WAYNE
But it's too good to miss.
PAUL

Look, just because you made a bit on that Cortina, doesn't mean you're on some winning streak.
WAYNE
Yeah, I admit it, I got lucky there. But this is
d life rent.
PAUL SOFTENS TO WAYNE.
PAUL
What if we lose?
WAYNE
But we won't. Eddie does this kind of thing all the time.
PAUL
You trust him with the garage funds?
WAYNE
PAUL
Look, I'll think about it.
WAYNE
We only have to the end of the day.
PAUL NODS, AS WAYNE, BUOYED, EXITS.
PAUL IS CONFLICTED.
