Episode four of Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year sees Claire Byrne accompany the entrepreneur finalists on a trip to Silicon Valley, California.
Claire visits NASA and goes to a gig by Bono's investment partner Roger MacNamee of Elevation Partners. She takes in a San Francisco Pride parade and explores the history of the Irish in the city.
Claire and the entrepreneur finalists are making up part of the largest unofficial trade mission to leave Ireland. The rest of the group is made up of the judging panel, former finalists and winners. Together they experience what has made Silicon Valley so unique and what Ireland could learn from it.
Two of the finalists take part in a real life public business pitch, while all of them get the opportunity to visit some of the biggest business names in the world.
The trip also includes a little sightseeing, with the highlight being a cycle across Golden Gate bridge.
