First show nerves are rattling. Last minute preparations are being made; studio links tested, lighting tinkered with, microphones checked.
Tonight we'll have a number of people who were involved in the mooted 'Democracy Now' alliance. It was supposed to be some sort of loose alliance of between 20 and 30 fresh candidates running on a platform to change the system. At least that was the rumour. Fintan O'Toole gave his take on it in Saturday's Irish Times.
Deaglán DeBreadun reported this morning that the launch had been planned for Friday's Late Late Show, with a press conference due today. All that was cancelled at the last minute. But what exactly happened? Were there personal problems between those involved? Our guests have their own take on the story. We'll have Elaine Byrne, Eamon Dunphy and Fintant O'Toole in studio, tune to in to hear more about what went wrong.
11pm, RTÉ Two.
