JOHNNY MURTAGH: GLITTERING HIGHS AND CRASHING LOWS
Esteemed champion jockey Johnny Murtagh has been a household name for almost two decades. During this time Johnny has experienced many professional triumphs and also encountered devastating hurdles, both professionally and personally. In a gripping and candid interview with Ella McSweeney one of Meath's finest son's shares the personal story behind his headline-grabbing career.

Murtagh is a fascinating character who rose from a non-equestrian family background to the highest highs the sport can offer. He tells Ella about his battle with his weight and the demon drink, speaking frankly about how he lost it all and reached his lowest ebb but doggedly managed to bounce back. From his apprenticeship under John Oxx to his extraordinarily fruitful partnership with Aidan O Brien and the Aga Khan, Johnny reminisces on the horses and people that have been central to his life both on and off the racetrack.

Plus Darragh McCullough reports from Limerick on the fodder crisis facing farmers.
