Pure Brazen (Daragh Whelan & David Lombard)

Name: Daragh Whelan & David Lombard
Idea: Pure Brazen stock
Investment: ¤25,000
Equity: 30%
Location:Terenure, Dublin

The Pitch:"100% Fresh and natural food stock to make tasty home cooked meals. It has zero added salt, so it's healthy too!"

How did you come up with the idea: Dave's dad protects his home made stock like a rare commodity, so we decided there must be some value in it. We went to our local butcher Conor, Smithfield Markets for veg and raided the herb garden. Dave made a real homemade stock by boiling, braising and simmering it down just like his dad had shown him. It went down a storm! We use it for tasty soups, sauces, stews, gravies, casseroles and risottos to name a few.

Personal Information: Daragh's background is in marketing, brand creation and sales across a number of industries. He has worked in high growth financial services sector primarily and has also created new businesses in the past. David is currently undertaking a Masters in Strategic Management in DIT and has a strong background in managing projects in both the commercial retail property sector and within the IT industry. Both of us are extremely keen amateur cooks and David is very much a foody with a slight obsession for Jamie Oliver recipes. We have a passion for food and helping consumers prepare healthy home cooked meals.
