Episode 9: Flue Pot Plug

Q: Explain your Dragon's Den experience?
A: My experience with the dragons den was the turning point of my life , the flue pot plug was what I believed in for the last five years and worked hard to keep it alive and promoting it the best I could with little advertising due to no funds , applying for the dragons has become such a reality to me that I never thought possible to give me the boost from the show that the plug needed to survive and prosper , words cannot explain to me what the show has done for me at this stage.

Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: The five dragons were so gifted in what they said and what they see that I could not pick out one tough dragon on my pitch only to complement them.

Q: Were you nervous?
A: Yes, I was so nervous because these people can change your life by making an investment. I put the chimney plug in their hands hoping and praying that an investment will be made as it was my only hope to bring the chimney plug to where it should be by saving money exclusively for disused chimneys.

Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: I was surprised as they knew about chimneys and the heat loss from disused chimneys

Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: Niall O' Farrell

Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: No

Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other budding entrepreneurs?
A: Yes

Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: My highest achievement as to my future.

Q: In five year's time where do you see your product/company?
A: All over Ireland and UK and further afield.

Q: What is your lasting memory of the Den?
A: After meeting the five dragons to me they are stars it was the most amazing experience and stars they are.

Q: At any point did you think you wouldn't get the investment?
A: I never thought about the investment in getting it or not getting it. I wanted the dragons to hear my talk about the plug to the best I could, with pressure in my pitch I did think at one stage that the pressure was getting to much for me, but once I managed to explain the plug with confidence and the dragons gave questions this confidence grew then I knew I had a chance I might get an investment. Between the last two dragons, with luck I could get an investment. But one dragon stood out most as he asked the most questions with great interest shown I knew an investment could be made by this dragon. I just kept positive through the show, never negative. Funny as it may seem he's the dragon I most wanted before dragons den has ever been shown.
