Episode 1: Jollies - Ollie and Jean Boyce
Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: Don't feel anyone was the toughest. More not seeing the future for my product. Maybe it was far to in the future for them and they were looking for instant profit.
Q: Were you nervous?
A: Not before hand, only when I entered the Den my mouth became so dry I could hardly get my words out. My wife Jean was fine, she felt quite at home.
Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: Not really as expected only surprised by the fact that one of the dragons thought they would be difficult to carry. It's a wheel, you just roll it.
Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: I feel Sean O'Sullivan showed the most interest. But I feel they all liked the idea.
Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: No maybe only perfected my pitch better. But with all the running about on that morning and everything going on it just went out the window. But having said that I feel that the most important part is when you uncover your product you know within two minutes whether they like it or not. As the case may be you can have the best pitch in the world; it all depends on your product.
Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other Budding entrepreneurs?
A: Yes definitely, provided you are passionate enough you must totally believe in your product because if you are note how do you expect anybody else to be.
Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: This is a huge step for us after all our hard after all our hard work. From The early stages to date it's been a long hard road and finally maybe a brand name... who knows?
Q: In Five years' time where do you see your product?
A: Definitely in the market place. Very difficult to determine depends on the reaction from the den. Would like to start slowly and fully develop the product but I am willing to make small numbers myself before they become mass produced and would like to be involved in every stage of development if I can get some sponsors. The future is uncertain but bright for Jollies recycled tyre speakers.
Q: What is your lasting memory of the Den?
A: The Buzz of it all and not knowing what the future holds.
