Episode 8: Slender Choice
Q: Explain your Dragon's Den experience?
A: Dragons Den was probably the toughest yet most exhilarating experience to date. Initally the thought of the tv cameras was probably the biggest fear but once in the Den they were the furthest thing from our thoughts! We saw it as a massive opportunity to promote ourselves and our products. I t was definintely a move out of our comfort zone but as fans of the show we really wanted to give it a go.
Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: Niall probably came across as the toughest and apparently he gave us a hard time because he was so interested in our products and our company.
Q: Were you nervous?
A: We doubt that anyone could enter the Den without being a little nervous but the nerves soon eased when we were talking passionately about our own company and our products.
Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: Most of the questions asked were exactly what we expected but as always sitting here now we could answer everything so eloquently. There were definitely answers that we look back on an think why didn't we say this or that but overall we felt that we handled the situation well.
Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: Niall and Gavin both stayed in the longest and Niall then made an offer.
Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: There were times when we could have defended our product and company a little more but with the Dragons as the experts we didn't want to come across too arrogant.
Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other budding entrepreneurs?
A: Without doubt we think it is an amazing opportunity and one that we will remember and hopefully benefit from forever.
Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: It is a massive personal achievement to brave the Den and we are excited about the future for our company.
Q: In five year's time where do you see your product/company?
A: In five years time our products will be available across Ireland and the UK and we will be looking to other markets. Product development will be a critical factor in our success along with our immense pride in the quality of our product.
Q: What is your lasting memory of the Den?
A: The anticipation of walking up the stairs and the relief, excitement, tears and joy of walking out of the room winners with a 50,000 Euro investment!
Q: At any point did you think you wouldn't get the investment?
A: After the first three Dragons went out we really thought it may not go so well but once the questions were still coming we still had an opportunity for investment.
