Episode 7: Debbie Ross

Q: Explain your Dragon's Den experience?
A: It was a rollercoaster from start to finish. I knew I was potentially at too early a stage but felt it would be a worthwhile experience and more importantly, one I could learn from. It was a fantastic opportunity and certainly gave me valuable food for thought! Since filming in January, a number of products are now currently in testing and I am about to launch www.kittyobyrnes.ie

Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: I wouldn't say anyone in particular although that is their role after all as a Dragon.

Q: Were you nervous?
A: You walk into a room, 5 people sitting as you stand and pitch surrounded by cameras.... of course!! The ShinAwiL team were amazing though from start to finish and they really helped to put my nerves at ease.

Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: Not so much the questions but there were a couple of comments that did surprise me and it was obvious that one or two Dragon's weren't genuinely interested.

It would have been fantastic to have a Dragon with a strong food background that could potentially champion Irelands growing food entrepreneurs.

Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: The lovely Gavin, bless him. He did feel I had 'something' but that I wasn't quite ready yet which I totally agree with. He did say I should come back next year but hopefully Kitty's will be on the market by then.

Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: Yes, but it was a matter of timing really. Ideally I would have had testing completed and therefore some product sales behind me.

Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other budding entrepreneurs?
A: Yes, if they are passionate and believe in what they want to achieve. The entire process regardless of outcome will certainly give you focus and direction.

Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A:

Q: In five year's time where do you see your product/company?
A: A trusted Irish brand with a wide range of food products selling internationally (and in the Dragon's cupboards!!)

Q: What is your lasting memory of the Den?
A: How lovely the ShinAwiL team were.
