Episode 3: Ship My Tri Bike

Q: Explain your Dragon's Den experience?
A: Dragons Den was an experience I'll never forget. It's the start of a bright future for Ship My Tri Bike. It was a rollercoster from start to finish and luckly I finished at the top. Dragons Den will spearhead my business in the future and give me the start I need to excel in this industry. With Barry O Sullivan on board, I could'nt have asked for a better investor. His business contacts, mentoring and experience will guide me in the right direction.

Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: Gavin Duffy. Gavin just has a presence about him that makes you nervous, but ultimately he is a businessman and he is looking for a good invesment. He puts you under pressure to answer questions and if he doesn't get the answer he's looking for, he'll tell you!!!

Q: Were you nervous?
A: I was nervous but quietly confident.

Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: No. I had done a lot of research and could anticipate questions, I prepared myself for every eventuality and every outcome. Therefore I knew I would have no problem is answering the dragons questions.

Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: Barry. He obviously know's a good idea when he sees it!!! He came in very early with an offer and showed his interest straight away. He was'nt going to let my investment slip away easily and he certainly was'nt going to let Ramona get in and steal it!! Im glad he did.

Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: No. I went into the Den and gave it 100%, I wanted to leave with no regrets and luckily I didn't.

Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other budding entrepreneurs?
A: Yes however I'd advise them that Preparation is key. I cant emphasise enough how important preparation is. I practised my pitch over 50 times, I did two mock Dragons Den Preparations and the things I picked up from that stood to me in the Den. You need to go into the Den confident that you can deliver because your pitch is so important and after the first two minutes, the dragons will have made up ther mind.

Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: It means I can put everything into this business, all my time and effort will go into Ship My Tri Bike and I can strive to achieve an even higher standard.

Q: In five year's time where do you see your product/company?
A: Servicing over 50 triathlon and cycling events worldwide.

Q: What is your lasting memory of the Den?
A: Coming out with more money while keeping the equity the same :)

Q: At any point did you think you wouldn't get the investment?
A: I never had a doubt.
