Episode 8: Damien McGrane's Response

Q: Explain your Dragon's Den experience in a couple of lines?
A: It was exciting and daunting in equal measures. One of the most exciting experiences in my life.

Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: I thought they were all generally polite and fair.

Q: Were you nervous?
A: Yes I was nervous, but I was as prepared as I could have been.

Q: How did you prepare?
A: I went through my business plan over and over again until I was happy that I could answer any questions confidently. I also made sure that I knew my market and competitors.

Q: Was it as you expected it to be?
A: It was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: Yes, but most were logical.

Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: Gavin Duffy.

Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: I don't think so.

Q: Has entering the den changed your perception of business in any way?
A: Yes, I am a lot more focussed as a result of being on Dragons' Den.

Q: Would you recommend applying for Dragon's Den to any other budding entrepreneurs?
A: Absolutely. The least you will get is good advice. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with a business partner who will mentor you and push your business forward with speed and direction that most entrepreneurs don't have the ability or experience to achieve.

Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: Dragons' Den has given me the opportunity that I would never have had in the real world.
