Dragon Profile - Niall O'Farrell

Niall O'FarrellNiall O'Farrell is one of Ireland's most successful entrepreneurs. He founded the Blacktie formalwear chain in 1985 and his business interests now include property development and investment in Ireland and central London as well as other retail interests and investments in the food and drinks distribution business.

Niall became a Dragon in 2008 and has made investments in both series 1 and 2. So far, to date, he has invested in the below businesses.

Buttons Niall invested in the goldsmith Elaine-Sarah Comerford and helped turn this luxury jewellery brand into Button & Co Goldsmiths whose collection is available in 20 of the top jewellery stores throughout Ireland.

Karen Morgan Ceramics Niall also invested in Karen Morgan whose luxury brand of handcrafted porcelain ceramics is now available with the Kilkenny Group. Dee's Burgers More recently Niall has invested in Dee's Burgers, Eat Well be Happy range of Organic veggie burger, which is now available in all supermarkets throughout Ireland, and is now being launched in the U K market.

Beal Organic Cheese He is also in partnership with Kate Carmody of Beal Organic whole milk cheddar cheese in County Kerry.

Niall has been building his property portfolio since the age of 22. He has many landmark buildings in London and Ireland. He is in demand as a speaker at conferences about business and is outspoken in his support for the reintroduction of government-backed training schemes.

Niall also enjoys sports including skiing , golf, clay shooting and fishing.
