Episode 5: Karen Morgan
It was really nerve racking. It would seem really easy to talk about what business your running but I had a lot of blank moments! But it has been a wonderful experience and has focused my vision for the business greatly.
Q: Who was the toughest Dragon?
A: All of them! I found it really hard to explain myself because I was so nervous.
Q: How did you prepare?
A: The decision to apply and take part had a short lead in time. I had to do a lot of work quickly on my figures and projections and also practise my pitch a lot.
Q: Was it as you expected it to be?
A: Yes and no. It's a bit surreal. I found it so hard to convey my thoughts and it's intimidating when they are all waiting to hear your response.
Q: Were you surprised by some of the questions?
A: Not really, I was more surprised at how I thought I was prepared but under the line of fire I felt the complete opposite.
Q: Who was most interested in your idea?
A: I think they all liked it but Sarah and Niall obviously the most.
Q: Would you have done anything differently?
A: I think I would have liked to have given myself more time to work on my answers. Of where I saw the business going I think I may have been confusing myself.
Q: Has entering the den changed your perception of business in any way?
A: Yes I realise my talents are in design. I'm not sure I have the toughness of the Dragons.
Q: What does this mean to you personally?
A: I was so scared. I can't believe I did it and secured an investment. I feel a great sense of achievement.
