Product: Animation kits for Kids - the magic of making animation. Animatazz programmes range from dedicated workshops and training to careers masterclasses and production projects. Programmes target children aged 8+ and young people with a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but also specifically cater for the needs of those who have shown a particular interest in movie and media making and the arts. Their aim is to bring together children and young people who have a passion for the field with professionals already working in it.

Came up with Idea: Michael not only works in animation but he also teaches it, and the results he saw from his classes were good. The delight on the children's faces when they saw the results made him want to develop to a wider audience and Animatazz grew from there.

Personal Information: Michael left Ireland at 18 after completing his leaving cert. It was a further 18 years before he returned to live in Ireland having attained on his travels a Degree in Fine Art (sculpture) at Newcastle upon Tyne, a Diploma in Multimedia Arts in Paris and a Masters Degree in Computer Animation at the NCCA, Bournemouth Media School. His working life took the route laid by many fellow Irishmen before him, working the sites of London, digging holes in Holland, cleaning kitchens and waiting tables in Paris. He has also worked as a language Teacher, Art Teacher and Facilitator of animation and moving image workshops to young and old. In the more recent past Michael has been working with start-up production companies as a technical director creating, managing and scheduling production of pilots for kids TV show's, advertisements and websites. Michael is also married and has one daughter.

Outcome: Gavin Invested ¤80,000 in Animatazz for 45% share in the company

Name: Alan Ennis and David Daly
Idea: Toilet Snake
Investment: €25,000
Equity: 10%

Product:Hygienic Toilet cleaner that will eliminate the need for a toilet brush. Alan and David had previously applied to the UK Dragons Den with an early concept of the idea but were unsuccessful and after a number of years of research and development they applied to the Irish Dragons Den.

Came up with Idea: David never liked the idea of Toilet Brushes nor did any of his friends or people he spoke to about this. As David thought there had to be a more hygienic way rather than using a toilet brush he spoke to Alan and between them they came up with different concepts and the Toilet Snake was established.

Personal Information:Alan is married with 2 children and is a radio DJ. Alan lived in the UK for 12 years and worked as a tv presenter. David is married and has one child and he works in the finance industry. He also lived in the UK for a number of years and that is where Alan and David originally met.

Outcome: Niall invested ¤25,000 in Toilet Snake for 10% share in the company

Product: According to Cormac ZSweet is essentially Europe's first ever natural sweetner that is 0 calorie and that people with Diabetes can use without it affecting their sugar level.

Came up with Idea: When Cormac's sister was diagnosed with diabetes a number of years ago he began to research the different type of products and found that there was nothing available in Ireland. He came across ZSweet a product originally started off in the US by a man who invented it for his mother who had diabetes but it was not available outside the USA or Canada. Cormac has now brought this product to Ireland and is also the European Distributor of Z Sweet.

Product: Girls Night In brings a new and innovative way for friends of all ages to party in the comfort of their own home

Came up with Idea: After moving back to Dublin she has being waiting for that one great business idea that she would feel both excited and passionate about, and it came to her 5 years ago Girls Night In. But with not a penny to their name Vera had to put it on hold until she could afford to put the concept together. It took her two years to finally get it started and she has not looked back since.

Personal Information: Vera is married to her husband Paddy and have two children Kurtis 17 and Scott 12. Both Vera and her husband ran their own fashion design business for over 11 years.
