RTÉ and Sideline Productions are proud to announce the return of Class Act, the search for Ireland's most talented teenager. Class Act, presented by Derek Mooney has searched all over Ireland to find the nation's most talented teens and is bringing them to your screens. After meticulously sifting through a mountain of audition tapes the show invited 60 budding starlets to Athlone for two intense days of auditions where only eighteen positions where available to go onto the studio shows .These highly sought after positions where handed out by our esteemed and very qualified talent panel. Our tenacious trio features Julian Benson, dance choreographer, talent agent and no stranger to the highs and lows of the audition process, Caroline Morahan, presenter, actress and radio personality and vocal heavy weight Dr. Veronica Dunne, Ireland's premier singing coach.
Shows one and two of Class Act will feature the audition process at an auditorium in Athlone where sixty contestants will aim to impress our talent panel. Only 18 positions are available at the end of the audition process, going forward to three studio shows featuring six of the top talent in each show. The series features unusual acts such as the classical drummer giving him unique touch to Mozart, the 13 year old Joe Dolan impersonator complete with white suit and frisky moves, a pair of Cork rappers and a dancing contortionist who can literally tie herself in knots. Each week only two uniquely talented teens will be hand picked by our talent panel to go through from the studio show and find themselves on the stage of the grand final battling it out for the "Class Act" title and €10,000 to further their career. The final, filmed at Dublin's Tivoli Theatre will feature the six finalists who will be scrutinised by a public vote.
