Celebrity Bainisteoir 2009 Line Up Revealed

Hit series returns with all-star cast

RTÉ’s Celebrity Bainisteoir returns for a second series with eight brand new celebrities, eight new mentors and eight new GAA club teams ready to battle it out for the title Celebrity Bainisteoir 2009.

Last year Celebrity Bainisteoir proved to be a runaway success as hundreds of thousands of viewers thrilled to the unlikely combination of the glamorous world of celebrity with the raw passion of the GAA grassroots.

The eight new celebrities who will take on the challenge of managing an intermediate club football team from their home county in this official GAA tournament are:  radio and television presenter Ray D’Arcy, broadcaster Derek Davis, journalist and broadcaster George Hook, comedienne Katherine Lynch, entrepreneur and presenter of ‘I’m An Adult Get Me Out Of Here’ John McGuire, children’s television presenter Emma O’Driscoll, model and businesswoman Andrea Roche and journalist and social commentator John Waters.

Celebrity Bainisteoir 2009 promises even more drama and excitement as these eight Bainisteoirí step out of their comfort zone and immerse themselves in club GAA for the honour of their home county. Training is well under way and each Bainisteoir is determined to beat off the competition to lift the Celebrity Bainisteoir trophy in Parnell Park in May.

Bainisteoirí will be responsible for team training and tactics and for picking the teams.  On hand to oversee their progress and keep them in line will be a stellar line up of GAA sporting legends who will mentor them as they train and manage their teams.  Expect sparks to fly as the mentors push their celebrities to the limit in the chase for the title.

Celebrity Bainisteoir broadcasts on RTÉ One on Sundays at 6.30pm.

Celebrity Bainisteoir is produced for RTÉ by Animo Television/Kite Entertainment.
