Swapping the glamorous life of photo shoots and celebrity parties for the wilds of Connemara might not prove as tough for Katy French as you'd think. The top model and girl-about-town was actually born in Switzerland and would regularly go on glacier treks as a little girl. Her family moved to Ireland when she was still young and settled in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow where Katy could indulge her passion for horses.
After completing her Leaving Certificate Katy went on to study psychology but her future lay elsewhere. Katy knocked on the door of Assets Modelling Agency and was signed up on the spot. Within a week she was gracing the pages of national newspapers and the rest is It Girl history.
