BitterSweet

BitterSweet tells the story of re-united Dublin friends – Carmel, Gerry and Marie.  Three very different worlds, three very different women - but everything in common.   Upbeat and optimistic, BitterSweet celebrates their lives and loves.  Everything’s looking rosy - until reality bites…

Carmel looks like she’s got it all - gorgeous husband, four beautiful kids and a fabulous house by the sea - but are things in paradise as perfect as they seem?

Sexy, sophisticated, successful, Gerry can wrap men around her little finger.  However, since the death of her husband, she doesn’t want to know. She’s got a fabulous career – but is it enough?

Newly divorced Marie can’t wait to pick up the threads of her old life after twenty years of deadly marriage – but Dublin’s changed and Marie’s not sure where she fits in any more…

So, just like most people, scratch the surface and none of these lives are quite what they seem.

What happens when Gerry’s toy- boy starts to get serious about her?  Where does Marie begin with building a new life for herself?  How does she deal with post-divorce dating?  When Carmel’s life and marriage fall apart after a series of shock-revelations, does she sink or swim?

BitterSweet is about what happens when the cracks start to appear.  It’s about courage, coping - and the power of female friendship.  It sets out to show us that sometimes water can be just as thick as blood ...
