Beyond Belief is a new four-part series of late-night topical discussion programmes hosted by Mick Peelo.

The series will explore the main issues of the day through a moral, ethical and religious lens, as it attempts to create a healthy debate and dialogue between the different voices in society that are concerned about the future shape and direction of the country.

We look forward to a lively, animated, passionate but also analytical exploration of serious issues by people who have deeply held convictions about them.

Each of the four programmes will be 45 minutes in duration, giving ample time to debate the issues in a comprehensive manner with well known and not so familiar contributors.

The first programme in the series will be transmitted on Tuesday 25th September at 11.15pm on RTÉ 1.

About The Show

Each week, Mick Peelo will be joined by a panel of experts to tackle some of the most talked about and controversial issues facing the Irish people.

• Does Religion have anything to say about the current recession?
• Should Religion be taken out of Irish classrooms?
• Why has gay marriage suddenly become a major issue in Irish and international politics?
• Is it ever right to terminate a human life?

Beyond Belief will provide a well-informed, energetic and reflective discussion about who we are and what kind of a society we want for the future. Viewers can expect to feel some heat, but we also hope to shed some light on each subject.
