Now expecting their second baby, we follow the family as they prepare themselves and their son for serious heart surgery.
Along with the advice of a medical expert and support from other families, Baby on Board will explore the challenges parents face when their babies are born with birth disorders.
Georgina and Bryan Martin
Georgina and Bryan Martin live in Athy, Co. Kildare. Georgina is a stay at home Mum whilst Brian is the night manager at the Osprey Hotel. They have a ten month old son, Kyle with Down Syndrome, and they are expecting their second child in September.
Having a child with Down Syndrome came as a real shock to Georgina and Bryan as they were not aware of the situation during pregnancy. As they quickly accepted giving birth to a baby with a disability, their attention focused on his health. Kyle was born with a serious heart condition and is regularly monitored. He is currently awaiting a date for heart surgery in Crumlin Hospital.
