Renowned choreographer Andrew Wilson works with 20 of the best young dancers in the country on a beautiful Classical Ballet routine. All 20 dancers want to perform the completed piece but only 5 will make it. Who can impress Andrew enough to make his Corps de Ballet at Smock Alley?


Andrew trained with Jill Wigham in Dublin before entering 'The Royal Ballet School'. He became a corps de ballet member of 'Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet' and then a Soloist of 'The Birmingham Royal Ballet' in 1991.Andrew's principal/soloist roles included 'Elite Syncopations' and 'Danses Concertantes' (Sir Kenneth McMillan), 'Giselle', 'The Nutcracker' (Sir Peter Wright), 'Five of Hearts' (John Cranko), 'Theme and Variations' (George Balanchine) and 'Jazz Calendar' and 'Facade' (Sir Frederick Ashton).He joined the staff of 'Bird College' in 2000 and was promoted to Head of Ballet in 2006. He currently teaches classical ballet and is responsible for the teaching of Classical Pas De Deux to all years. He guest teaches regularly at 'Scapino Ballet' in Rotterdam and 'Ballet Ireland'. He regularly teaches at the RAD International Summer School in Japan.
