Football's Next Star

RTÉ is looking for Football's Next Star. We’ve teamed up with one of Europe’s biggest clubs, Celtic FC and together are on the hunt for one Irish boy, with not only a passion for football but an exceptional talent, who will win a dream place in Celtic’s Youth Academy and train with one of Europe’s most successful teams.

It’s every boy’s dream – could you have what it takes to be football’s next star? Then go on, give it your best shot!!

Check if you’re eligible. You must:
1. Be a boy been born on or between 1st January 1995 and 3rd March 1996
2. Be a legal resident of the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland (for at least the last 6 months)
3.You must hold a current passport from a European Union member state and ensure that the passport is valid for you to take part in the Competition and also to accept and perform the prize of the amateur registration with Celtic Football Club if you are selected as the winner and to travel throughout Europe until the end of May 2013.
4. Have the consent of your parent/s or legal guardian/s to take part and (if you are in full time education) the consent of your school
5. Be physically fit enough to take part in physical footballing tests, training exercises and matches
6. If shortlisted for the final 40 – be available to attend the second leg of the trials in Dublin on or around 19th March 2012
7. If shortlisted for the final 10 - be available to live and train in Glasgow, Scotland for the month of on and around April
8. Agree to have your football trial(s) filmed for the purposes of making the new RTÉ show ‘Football's Next Star’

THE TRIALS
The first leg of the competition is our ‘Football’s Next Star’ trials and they are being held over 2 weekends in two centres – one in Dublin and one in Limerick.

Please note trials are by appointment only and you can register to take part by:

or phoning the information line - from ROI 01 889 4970 and from Northern Ireland 00353 1889 4970 (note Calls from the Republic of Ireland charged at the national rate, call charges from Northern Ireland may be higher. Calls from mobiles may vary)

Closing date for entries is Friday 9th March at NOON.

DUBLIN TRIALS

DATES: Saturday 3rd March 2012 and Sunday 4th March 2012

LIMERICK TRIALS
VENUE :
Limerick Arena
University of Limerick
Castletroy
County Limerick
DATES: Saturday 10th March 2012 and Sunday 11th March 2012

You will be expected to bring your own boots, suitable sportswear for the trials. Also, water will be provided on site at the trials, but as it could be a long day, please be advised to bring food.
