MAKING A TV REPORT

RESEARCH First you need a story. Aidan talks to the people involved and arranges to come and film them

INTERVIEWS Aidan goes out with a cameraman. He interviews the main people involved, asking them questions about what they’ve done and how they went about it

OTHER PICTURES The cameraman films the activities going on, to illustrate what people have said in the interviews

PIECE TO CAMERA Often Aidan will speak to the camera, introducing what you’re about to see next or who he’s about to talk to.

EDITING Aidan brings his disc of pictures back to RTE and edits it all together into a report about two minutes long

READY TO GO Aidan writes an introduction to his report and it’s ready to go
