Former football star Gary Lineker recently complained about the “nonsense” that parents shout at children when watching them play sports but this weekend, at over a hundred clubs across Ireland, all you’ll hear is the sound of silence. That’s because a campaign called ‘Silent Sidelines’ has been launched to encourage parents not to shout while their children are playing. You can find out more about it by watching Friday’s show on the RTÉ Player.
To mark the launch, we’ve got some ‘Silent Sideline’ wristbands and hi-vis vests to give away. If you want to get your hands on some, just email us your thoughts on shouting at matches to firstname.lastname@example.org! Does it put you off your game?
