PUNISHMENT REMAINS AFTER APPEAL TO GAA

After an appeal to the GAA at Croke PArk last night, seven of the eight Derrytresk footballers remain suspended for their part in violence that masked last month's Junior Club Semi Final against Dromid Pearses of Kerry.
The Tyrone club will have Joe McKee back for this weekends final against Galway club, Clonbur.
Four other players have had their proposed suspensions of two months reduced to four weeks.
EUROPE'S BIG FREEZE

Much of Europe remains in the grip of a cold snap, with temperatures plummeting to as low as minus 40 degrees in some places.
Bulgaria declared a day of mourning today following the deaths of eight people in a flood caused by melting snow.
In Italy the death toll from the cold weather has now reached twenty, and despite a small rise in temperatures many areas remain blanketted in heavy snow.
The freezing temperatures have also been affecting trade, with ice-breakers being called in to clear channels in the River Danube which is frozen over.
PUPILS TAKE TO THE STAGE OF DUBLIN'S HELIX

300 pupils from seven schools in North Dublin are warming up for a live performance at the Helix.
They've been taught by a Hollywood-based group called The Young Americans.
