Family Camping in Spain

Luxury campsites are an increasingly popular choice for budget-conscious families who are looking for more than just a beach from a holiday. The four-star Cambrils park in southern Spain's Costa Dorada consists of the usual camping sites, in addition to a selection of bungalows and modern villas for those who like a bit more comfort. Situated just one kilometre from Salou, Cambrils is easily reached via two international airports - Reus just 12 kilometres away and Barcelona which is about an hour's drive north east.

The pool complex in Cambrils Park is very much a centrepiece. Here you'll find elephant waterchutes and a dragon slide, as well as the main area for evening entertainment. This site is perfect for a beach holiday with watersports available locally.

As welcoming to children as adults, guests can enjoy activities such as mini-golf, aerobics, tennis, soccer, a disco and a host of other great facilities. There are several shops, bars and a large restaurant in the park. With a spectacular pool complex, this park is especially suited to families with children. Each evening plays host to a variety of lively family-orientated entertainment and shows.

If the children get the urge to dig some sand castles, less than one kilometre away lies a fine sandy beach. A variety of water sports are also on offer for the more active tourist.

Cambrils town itself is only one kilometre away. It is a fishing town with a busy harbour, marina and over 200 restaurants. The town's seafood restaurants are renowned throughout Catalonia and the Spanish come to dine here from far and wide. Cambrils also has a nine-kilometre stretch of sandy beach and every September the town plays host to a festival of fireworks.
There are many attractions outside the resort including the Port Aventura (an 8km drive), Barcelona Zoo, and AquaLeon Costa Dorada, a wild natural animal park with more than 600 animals and an aqua park.

While staying at Cambrils Park, you could take a trip into the pretty coastal city of Barcelona, which is just over an hour's drive away. Barcelona is Spain's second largest city and is full of markets, shops, museums, stunning churches, and a great place to stroll around. A must see is Gaudi's stunning masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, which went under construction in 1882 and is not expected to be completed until 2026.
