The Maldives
The Maldives are situated on the equator, South West of Sri Lanka and are comprised of over 1,100 islands, of which 87 are exclusive resorts. Sun, sand and sea, massive lagoons with different depths and infinite shades of blue and turquoise, dazzling underwater coral gardens, the Maldives are the perfect tropical holiday destination. As the Maldives are located on the equator, the average temperature rarely drops below 27 C with an average maximum of 32 C in the warmest months.
The Maldives offers some of the finest beaches and crystal clear waters in the world and boast some of the best diving opportunities in the world. Located at the Northern tip of the Ari Atoll in a tiny ring of six islands known as Rasdhu Atholhu, lies Kuramathi Island. Comprising of three different resorts the island is a 1 hour 30 minute speedboat transfer or 20 minutes by seaplane. In the Cottage Club accommodation consists of 30 standard rooms and 50 water bungalows. The main restaurant, Malaafaiy serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A la carte dining options are also available at The Palm Court fine dining restaurant and the Siam Garden Thai restaurant.
In Kuramathi Village the accommodation comprises of 35 standard rooms, 33 superior rooms and 83 deluxe rooms all ensuite, with air conditioning. The Haruge restaurant serves all meals. A la carte dining is available at the Adoobe Grill serving prime cuts of meat & seafood or at the Tandoor Mahal Indian restaurant. The main bar has a lively atmosphere in the evening & serves a wide selection of sumptuous cocktails. A wide range of watersports including a dive centre, tennis, swimming pool & a full excursion programme is on offer. After a day of watersports or just lazing in the sunshine, a visit to the Kuramathi Spa by Serena is a must.
