Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Naomie Harris will join Benedict Cumberbatch in the Andy Serkis-directed The Jungle Book: Origins.

The Fighter star Bale will voice Bagheera while Blanchett will take on the role of Kaa the snake, with Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom actress Harris set to play Nisha the wolf.

It was announced yesterday that Benedict Cumberbatch will voice the fearsome tiger Shere Khan in the live-action remake of the classic tale.

Serkis' isn't the only Jungle Book re-make coming our way however with Disney putting together a whole other star-studded line-up to rival the Warner Bros production. In the Disney version we will see Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Bill Murray as Baloo, Christopher Walken as King Louis the orangutan and Sir Ben Kinglsey as Bagheera and Lupita N'yongo as Raksha the wolf.

The Disney remake will hit cinemas in October 2015, while The Jungle Book: Origins is slated for an October 2016 release.
