Fans of the band in the North-West will be happy to hear that Horslips play Knocknarea Arena in Sligo on Saturday October 25.
The band, who formed in 1970, won admirers at home and abroad for their rocked-up spin on Irish traditional music, wedding influences such as Jethro Tull and the music of Seán O'Riada to create their distinctive, vibrant new sound.
Horslips disbanded in 1980, after years of touring, but returned triumphantly almost 30 years later for sell-out gigs in Dublin and Belfast. They continue to gig occasionally and played Limerick earlier this month.
The band's latest album, released last November, is Biography, a double CD and download of every UK single release, including special edition mixes and rarities, B sides, and tracks previously unreleased on CD.
Tickets for the Sligo concert are available from Ticketmaster.
