Martin Lawrence has announced that Bad Boys 3 is on the Hollywood horizon.
The 49-year-old actor told Conan O'Brien on Wednesday night (Aug 13) that producer Jerry Bruckheimer told him “it's real”.
Lawrence co-starred with Will Smith in the first two instalments of director Michael Bay‘s buddy cop action franchise. Both films were a great success.
The unexpected confirmation of the sequel came when US chat show host O'Brien asked him during an appearance on last night's show if rumours of a third film were true.
"I believe so, yes. I just spoke to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it's real," Lawrence said. "They're working on the script. They're getting close to this. It all looks good."
The first Bad Boys was released in 1995 and grossed $141.4 million worldwide on a $19 million budget. The follow-up arrived in 2003 and grossed over $273.3 million worldwide on a $130 million budget.
