The Hard Working Class Heroes festival and convention has announced its 2014 line-up.
Now in its twelfth year this event has showcased what have become some of Ireland’s best known acts such as Delorentos, The Coronas, Fight Like Apes, Villagers, Lisa O'Neill and 2013's breakthrough act, Hozier.
Over 500 bands applied for inclusion and 100 of them were chosen by top Irish and international music industry professionals, in a series of gigs running October 2-4 in Dublin.
As ever, this is a great opportunity for the bands involved as it attracts many international A & R people who come every year to check out the talent.
It also offers the public an opportunity to see bands at what is often the most exciting, breakthrough stage of their careers.
The list of bands involved include A Lazarus Soul, Benihana, Carriages, Walpurgis Family and Yes Cadet – some of whom may be household names this time next year.
"This is HMV Ireland’s first year as main sponsor of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival”, notes their Head of Music, Chris Keena. "We are delighted to be involved in such a crucial event for the domestic music scene.
"Over the weekend we aim to bring the vibrancy of the event into our shops with a series of performances from bands on the bill giving fans a chance to meet and greet the bands."
Announcements about the tech side of the event, and the day-to-day venue, band and panel line-ups are to follow.
