JFK was in Ireland in June, six months mere before his assassination in Dallas on November 22 1963. A new opera plots the days before that fatal event.

The new opera, JFK, deals with at the 12 hours leading up to John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas in 1963.

David T. Little and Royce Vavrek’s work is scheduled to have its world premiere at the Fort Worth Opera in Texas on April 23, 2016.

However, New Yorkers will be able to get an advance look at a workshop performance of the opera-in-progress at Merkin Concert Hall on November 25.

The workshop will feature the singers who will perform in the premiere in Fort Worth. The cast, which the company is  expected to announce Monday, includes the baritone Matthew Worth in the title role, the mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack as Jacqueline Kennedy and Daniel Okulitch, the bass-baritone, as Lyndon B. Johnson.
