Pop superstar Kylie Minogue may be dusting down her overalls and primping her bubble perm for a return to Ramsay Street to mark Neighbours' 30th anniversary.

Kylie played tomboy grease monkey Charlene Robinson in the soap from 1986 to 1988 before leaving for a new life in Brisbane with childhood sweetheart Scott, who was played by Jason Donovan.

Last month the singer and coach on The Voice UK sent a cryptic tweet which read "So.....I bought overalls today" and which seems to suggest that she would be revisiting Ramsay street.

Now The Mirror reports that Anne Charleston, who played matriarch Madge Bishop on the Australian soap, says that Kylie is indeed set to make her return.

Speaking at the Edinburgh Fringe, Charleston said: "The Neighbours special thirtieth anniversary is coming up. I will probably be involved and it will go to air in March.

"I think Kylie is on board for the special and I imagine everyone will be in on it because it's a big occasion. I look on those days with fondness and there is no way in hell I'd walk away from the special because it's a celebration and I think we should all be involved in it."

Fingers crossed, eh cobbers?
