The judges, presenter Brendan Courtney, stylist and TV star Angela Scanlon and renowned milliner Phillip Treacy, chose the Tralee milliner out of over 600 women who took part in the competition.

She wore an ivory dress which boasted a high neck, sleeves and an attention-grabbing ostrich feather skirt along with a cream and bronze pearl hat of her own design.

The Highly Commended prize went to Lisa Regan, who wore a 1970s avocado shirt dress which she bought at a vintage sale in Galway for a bargainous €15. She topped off the chic look with a pair of snakeskin court heels and a Michael Mullins hat.
