Musical series Glee will introduce five new characters in its sixth and final season.
The new recurring characters will all be sophomores at McKinley High School.
Roderick, described as "chubby and shy with a voice like Otis Redding" will take the role of the show's new underdog.
"Football stud" Spencer is a talented singer who happens to be gay, while ambitious Jane is described as "unconventionally pretty" and "funny because she doesn't have much of a sense of humour".
Finally, twin Cheerios Mason and Madison are described as "super-positive and extremely weird".
The glut of new characters reflect executive producer Ryan Murphy's statement that the show will return to its high school roots in its final season, having been centred mostly on New York during season five.
"It's getting back to what I was initially interested in with the show," he said. "The last season is really about the importance of arts education in our high schools . . . I think people will like it."
Glee's sixth and final season, consisting of 13 episodes, is expected to air next year.
