Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss is in line to play the female lead in True Detective's second season.
The Wrap reports that she in talks about the part of Ani Bezzerides, a tough California sheriff whose dark past has driven her to gambling and alcohol addictions.
It was recently reported that Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch were the frontrunners for the season's two male leads, while Vince Vaughn and Michelle Forbes are also in line for roles.
The second season, which is again written by Nic Pizzolatto, will focus on the brutal murder of a corrupt California city manager.
