Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster hope to return to the UK in 18 months to give their two children a British education.
Their children are eight-year old Alastair and three-year-old Aiden.
“It’s not definite," Rod told the Daily Mirror. “But this is where me and Penny, this is where we come from."
In May 2013 it was reported that Stewart had spent £4.65 million (almost six million euros equivalent) on a new Essex home.
They were reported to have bought the 10-bedroom Durrington House near Epping Forest, in the same county as seven-bedroom Wood House, once owned by Winston Churchill.
Rod has been living in Los Angeles since 1975.
