Idris Elba is in talks to star in Guy Ritchie's upcoming King Arthur film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Mandela star would play Bedivere, Arthur's father's right-hand man, who teaches Arthur how to lead an army.
The role of Arthur has yet to be cast.
The script for the new film from Warner Bros. has been written by Joby Harold, and is a re-imagining of the story of King Arthur and his knights of the Kingdoms of Camelot.
If Elba accepts the role, he will reunite with Ritchie, who directed him in 2008's RocknRolla.
The Luther star is also voicing the character of Shere Khan in Disney's upcoming Jungle Book remake.
