Cast members of Game of Thrones, Pure Mule and Moone Boy will perform in a new 'glam rock' production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in Dublin Castle featuring a David Bowie and T-Rex soundtrack.

For the first time, the Office of Public Works is opening up the landscaped gardens of the castle to stage what producers are calling "The Bard with a twist", with performances at 7.30pm from July 23 to August 3.

"We are going for an exciting glam rock feel for this production, with music from such '70s legends as David Bowie, T-Rex and Queen," says producer Melissa Nolan.

"This production will be a riot for all the family to enjoy. Children will love the slapstick and energy, the adults will love the music, the beautiful language and the glorious setting of Dublin Castle gardens."

Among the cast are Sharon Mannion of Moone Boy as Herma, Neill Fleming of Game of Thrones as Quince/Egeus, Georgina Miller of Pure Mule as Titania and Fionn Foley of Vikings as Puck.

A Midsummer Night's Dream tickets are €6.00. For more, see: www.dublincastle.ie.
