Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul will be set in 2002 and portray shyster lawyer Saul Goodman as a small-town player searching for his destiny.

The show's producers AMC have also said that the new 10-parter will not air until early 2015 and will see Bob Odenkirk reprise his role as Goodman six years before he meets chemistry teacher turned drug baron Walter White.

Goodman will at first be known as Jimmy McGill, and then gradually transform into the oleaginous fixer fans know from Breaking Bad.

The series has already been approved for a second season and will also star Michael McKean as Chuck, Rhea Seehorn as Kim, Patrick Fabian as Hamlin and Michael Mando as Nacho.
