A spokesperson for Dolly Parton has denied that she mimed during her set at Glastonbury Festival on Sunday (June 29).

Doubts over her performance surfaced on Twitter, with debate raging over whether or not her vocals were pre-recorded.

However, now her representative has hit out at the rumours, telling the Sunday Mirror: "She sings live. Some people don't know an amazing singer when they hear one."

Stephen Fry also came to the defence of the country star, tweeting: "I think I know quite a lot about how TV is made. Why are people saying @DollyParton is miming? She's fooling me."

He later added: "Believe me, that is not miming. If it appears not always to lip-sync that's an HD live processor issue. You see it with news reporters."
