Dublin saw one of its biggest ever Pride Parades on Saturday, celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life in Ireland.

Organisers say up to 40,000 people turned out in the city centre to celebrate the gains made in achieving equality and inclusion for the LGBT community, and to keep up the pressure in advance of next year's expected referendum on marriage equality.

The Dublin Pride Parade is second only now in size to the St Patrick's Day Parade in the capital.

Organisers also drew attention to the fact that more companies have joined an equality network to make the workplace more inclusive for members of the LGBT community.
