Irish writer-director John Carney's new film, the Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo-starring Begin Again, has been honoured at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

The music-themed comedy-drama, which is released in Ireland on Friday July 11, won the award for Best Achievement in the category of Music.

Also starring James Corden, Catherine Keener, Adam Levine and Hailee Steinfeld, Begin Again tells the story of a down-in-the-dumps singer-songwriter (Knightley) and a burnt-out record executive (Ruffalo) who rediscover their love of life by working together.

Begin Again opens the Galway Film Fleadh on July 8.

Watch out for interviews with Knightley, Ruffalo and Corden on RTÉ TEN during the week of the film's release.
