Marvel have announced that Rosanna Dawson has joined the forthcoming comic series as a key guest star and will appear in multiple episodes.
While the 35-year-old's character is yet to be named, a description on Marvel's website revealed she will be "a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings blind attorney Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."
Speaking about Dawson's casting Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb said: "Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for Marvel’s Daredevil.
"Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil."
Dawson's casting comes just a week after Vincent D'Onofrio joined the 13-episode series as "The Kingpin."
In late May, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Spartacus' Steven S. DeKnight would be taking over the reins as showrunner from Drew Goddard.
