'It's easy to eat well as it is to eat wrong.'

Lisa Fitzpatrick hosted a series of talks in RTÉ with Special K, on fashion, fitness and her personal journey to losing weight. RTÉ Ten caught up with her to find out more.

The fashion stylist recently launched a new dieting book called, Diet SOS.

Speaking to RTÉ Ten about her new project, Lisa said: "With my book I really wanted to talk about how I did it. I was consuming 3,000 to 5,000 calories per day, which is why I just grew and grew. I was 15 stone."

Lisa says she is happy in her skin and doesn’t recommend a regimented diet, she added: "I gain 3-5 pounds every weekend but I don’t beat myself up about it. On Friday at 5pm I switch off and I go off the rails, I have wine, I eat what I like and then I am back on track on Monday."

When asked about how the weight loss industry can prey on people’s insecurities about how they look and feel,  Lisa said: "There’s huge pressure out there with people looking at celebrities and magazines but if you make the right choices, it’s easy to eat well as it is to eat wrong."

Lisa credits changing her diet and lifestyle in motivating her to change her career, to be a better mother and she feels she has changed her life as a result.
